I Run and Feel Rain

DRAMATIC FEATURE

In 1993, I adapted my screenplay for a short film that I directed, I Run and Feel Rain: Scenes, which premiered at the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum, received a 1993 Rosebud Festival Award, and had a special screening at the American Film Institute. Circle Releasing (producers of Raising Arizona, Miller’s Crossing, and Barton Fink) recognized the film for “its exceptional innovation,” and agreed to develop the feature length film. The screenplay got an extraordinary response from actors, producers, and studios. By 1995, Miramax had green-lit the film with me to direct,  starring  Tim Roth, Sam Rockwell, Sissy Spacek, and Samuel Jackson. David Lynch was Executive Producer and Brian Eno planned to score the film, a team unprecedented for a first time director. Due to a change in the executive structure of the company, Miramax put the film on indefinite hold for production, but I was able to regain the rights to the screenplay, and plan to resume development of the film in the near future.
